NBA Playoffs: Which Teams Are Thriving on Facebook, Twitter?

"NBAPlayoffsLogo"With the National Basketball Association playoffs well into the conference semifinals stage, real-time customer-engagement, social-media-monitoring and analytics platform Engagor analyzed related conversation on Facebook and Twitter.

Engagor found that:

  • There were 2.5 million total mentions of teams, players, hashtags and keywords on the two social networks from April 18 through May 2.
  • Females were responsible for a little more than 25 percent of that buzz.
  • The Golden State Warriors had the best growth percentages in Facebook likes (more than 72,900 new likes) and Twitter followers (more than 24,200).
  • The San Antonio Spurs boasted the most fan engagement.
  • The Milwaukee Bucks were the most active club on Twitter, while the Dallas Mavericks were the least active.
  • For Facebook, the Spurs posted and engaged the most, while the Boston Celtics were the least active.
